Shine Bright like a Diamond

It's nearly time... 2 weeks to go to be exact and we know you have lots of parties to prepare for.

Thankfully we are here to provide some quick party tips for you to use during this party season.

Don't be afraid to take those bolder pieces for an outing.

Lace

Emily Blunt- Lavin Resort 2015                                  Lily Collins- Elie Saab Spring 2015

Lace dresses or lace anything in fact, never goes out of style, it's timeless and always a fail safe option when it comes to party wear.

The two examples above are rather risque ones with the use of the lazer cut-out shape, the dress plays with seduction combined with high sophistication; so it's perfect for those nights when your wanting your dress to do all the talking

We love the similarities and the differences in these gowns. Lily Collins is sporting a more youthful look with the cobalt blue Elie Saab gown and deep v cut with the addition of the laced cut out slits on the side of the bodice. Where-as Emily Blunt is still looking super glamorous, just a little more mellowed out with a more grown up teal shade Lanvin dress the new mum shows off her stunning figure with a pinned in waist and higher cut neck.

Both dresses graze the floor with a delicate pleated sheer skirt showing off both of their enviable figures.

                                  Elise Dress                                                              Charlotte Dress

We have some stunning options if you wanted to replicate a look like this. This Elise dress in a navy shade has lace arm paneling and is decorated with gold stars on the body with a train to complete the look you couldn't really get more red carpet than that! The Charlotte dress is a little more dress up with the fairy-tale feel of the tulle skirt and lace bodice you will be ready to shut that party down.

Sequins

Hilary Rhoda- Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2014                      Olivia Palermo- Piper Lime

Sequins are always one of our favorite trends at Christmas, or anytime of the year in fact. You can always fit a sneaky sequin in somewhere. Once again we have two stunning party ready looks that can be worn in two entirely different ways. Hilary Rhoda has smashed  the red carpet a the Whitney Gala this year with a floor length gold heavily embellished strapless gown leaving it simple on the accessories front with just a pair of drop earrings. Olivia Palermo has gone in a different direction with a sequin skirt and still keeping a dressed up vibe with a two tone bronze jumper.

                                   Clarisse Dress                                                             Suzy Skirt

We have a number of different sequin looks but the Clarisse Dress is one of our favourites the rare cut and stunning outline makes it a real showstopper. With the pink satin lining you can be on that dance floor for hours. But if you wanted a more relaxed look but no less glamorous this stunning sequin skirt is your best pick, with a matching top as an option you can wear this skirt as many ways as you would like, with a baggy jumper to feel more relaxed or tuck in a baggy white t-shirt and your ready for a comfortable luxurious evening.

Sending you lots of holiday cheer.

High Drama, High Impact

We love pieces that say a thousand words or leave one speechless and looks like we are not the only ones.

With the party season hot on our tails it can be difficult to know how to pair certain statement pieces.

Here are our top tips on how to do so.

Lights, Camera, Action.

Get ready to hit center stage.

Olivia Munn's feather mini look was perfect for her recent trip to the ballet and is a chic modern twist on the much coveted Little Black Dress.

Mixing her fun loving dress with the juxtaposed effect of a sleek bun she gives a unique take on her red carpet look.

By mixing textures and styles she has taken this Lavin runway look to another level ultimately becoming one of the most coveted looks on the red carpet.

You can recreate the stunning Magic Mike star's look here

Using mix and match pieces is an easy solution to avoid feeling overwhelmed or uncomfortable in your statement looks.

Pull one statement item and keep the rest simple.

All That Glitters

Everything in moderation.

The incredible model Jourdan Dunn shows off her figure in this one of a kind Burberry Resort Collection skirt paired with a simple navy peplum jacket at the Burberry Art of The Trench party.

At One Vintage you can feel just as special as Jourdan Dunn with our one of a kind sequin skirt.

This look is perfect for the upcoming party season, taking a look from day to night with a mix of different patterns and shapes.

Pairing a statement skirt like this one with a plain t-shirt is a great way to take your look to the next level and is easily achievable.

If you want to start off your day in a more suitable/casual attire you can start with a simple tee and jean combination then when the party mood strikes whip out your statement piece to blow your fellow guests away.

Roll out the red carpet

Anne Hathaway attended the Interstellar premier in LA wearing this chic Richard Nicoll gown. The dress features a deep v at the front and back giving her great definition to her delicate frame.

This particular fluid cut and midnight blue color are timeless and really add to the overall look.

With her cropped hair, she keeps it simple with the accessories and lets the dress do all the talking.

We enjoy a good timeless classic here at One Vintage and the Ellie Gown is no exception with clear fluid lines and a little train to follow you at the back this is the perfect dress to take your next event to another level.

Jennifer Lopez attends the 2014 LACMA Art + Film Gala in this stunning Gucci Première navy-blue deep-plunging gown.

Jennifer Lopez enjoys a good statement dress, standing out is something that comes easy to this Pop beauty and so it should, if we looked like that I think we would be wearing as many plunging, figure hugging gowns as was physically possible.

She flatters her famous curves with glistening embroidered fabrics to highlight her feminine figure.

Our stunning Halle Dress does just this, highlighting what you want to show and covering things you would prefer to keep hidden.

Charlotte Casiraghi who is the face for Gucci cosmetics wears Gucci Spring 2015 at the 2014 LACMA Art + Film Gala.

This stunning green and blue halter neck gown with the tie up belt accentuates and elongates her figure.

Intriguing detailing and a mix of colours knocks this dress up a few pegs making her look one of the best of the night.

A successful spin on a vintage inspired design.

Our amazing hand embroidered Vanessa Dress originates from delicate ornate silk fabric, stunning mixed color palettes of blue, white and green.

Autumns Chic

With the Autumn weather starting to look like its settling in, everywhere we look on the high street there are people trying to figure out how to stay warm and dry without compromising on their style.

Here are a few of tips on how to stay upto date on the trends without catching a chill.

1) Hats
Hats never go out of style; whether it be a stylish trilby or a wide brimmed fedora they are a staple item in anyone's wardrobe this season. Keeping us shielded from the rain as well as keeping our heads warm, they are the perfect finishing touch to any outfit day or night.

Brigitte Bardot - 1968- London

Brigitte Bardot uses her classic fedora to add a little something to her stylish 60s look, with a long black jacket she taps into the Boho style by adding a simple chain around her neck for a splash of glamour.

Victoria Beckham- 2014- London

VB used her fedora to go incognito to her store opening in London, shielding her face from Paparazzi and passing fans, we may not have screaming fans but there are days we do want to hide from the World, a wide brimmed fedora is the chicest way to do that. VB manages to look elegant and understated in this simple yet completely stylish look.

2) Gilets

We are not quite ready for full fur coats yet, so Gilets are the best alternatives to add a little bit of glamour to our winter wardrobes.

Kendall Jenner (or Kendall as we are required to call her now)  has the right idea below.

Kendall Jenner- Milan- 2014

Kendall wears hers with a very casual look of skinny jeans and a baggy white t, showing us that glamour is achievable with the simplest of looks. Adding the fur Gilet she has been transformed her look.

Kendall Jenner- New York- 2014

Here Kendall is again wearing the same Gilet but layering it over a series of other jackets. This is perfect for those colder days. Wearing a long black coat as the bottom layer and adding a denim jacket as a second layer she tops it off with her cream fur gilet giving some shape and glamour to her over all look.

Olivia Palermo- 2013- New York

Olivia Palermo is known as the ultimate fashion girl, in this look she couldn't be more on point. We love the different styles she has combined together, adding a simple black fur gilet to a smart suit look to give it a little more of casual feel. This is the ideal way to soften a hard charcoal look like this one.

£390

3) Belts

We know it's easy to look frumpy during the Winter months, hidden behind an overwhelming amount of layers. However we like to take some inspiration from Burberry's timeless trench's and DVF's staple belted dresses; and DEFINE that waistline.

Who needs buttons or zips when you have a belt, adding a bit of shape to our bulky coats or loose outfits they are the ultimate addition for us this winter adding a little drama and fun this season.

Blake Lively- 2014- Cannes

In hindsight after her big announcement today it's not surprising Blake Livley went for a loose fit coat to arrive at Cannes. Adding some color to a basic black look she arrives at the airport looking Parisian chic in this over sized pink wrap coat, pulled in at the waist by the belt to highlight her slim physique

Ciara- 2014- New York

Ciara displays an on point bold color block look above. Yet the outfit has remained rather minimal in its completion.
Defining her waistline with the belt helps cut up the outfit minimizing the risk of looking 'frumpy', and after adding the elegant heel to finish off shes managed to take a classic winter coat to another glamorous level.

Wintour is Coming

As we are in the process of changing seasons, our wardrobes are also needing to adapt to the change of weather also.

Although apparently England hasn't got the memo yet and is still in Summer 'humid' mode, however we will be grabbing our coats and furs soon enough and better to be prepared than shivering down frosty streets.

We at One Vintage are here to make sure you are not left out in the cold.

We love wrapping up in snuggly coats and layers of soft knits, dreaming of chunky furs or anything shearling.

And we have just had some new pieces drop on the website

This stunning one of a kind fur jacket just like Amy Adams in American Hustle. Costume designer for American Hustle Michael Wilkinson said that he dressed the characters according to what they aspired to be. Sydney Prosser was a glamorous woman who just wanted to be taken seriously in a male dominated world.  This is a timeless jacket clearly reminiscent of the 1970s, with a beautiful a-line shape to create an hourglass effect this is stunning iconic piece that is perfect to use a finishing touch to any outfit.

Barbra Streisand a true icon who took the world by storm and had the power to captivate any audience whether it be on Broadway or film, she was as glamorous as she was talented so it is no shock to see her draped this elegant leopard print coat which is a near exact replica of the coat to the left which we have available in store now. Leopard print is always in style particularly in winter. The print has the power to take a simple t-shirt and jeans look to another level, through on some heels and you have a look that you can take from day to night.

We have plenty of  winter looks at One Vintage at the moment that are perfect to add to your wardrobe this season.
